Business Summary
Connecticut Green Bank (Green Bank) was established in a bipartisan manner by the Governor and Connecticut’s General Assembly on July 1, 2011 through Public Act 11-80 as a quasi-public agency that supersedes the former Connecticut Clean Energy Fund. As the nation’s first green bank, it makes clean energy more accessible and affordable for all Connecticut citizens and businesses by creating a thriving marketplace to accelerate the growth of green economy. It facilitates clean energy deployment by leveraging a public-private financing model that uses limited public dollars to attract private capital investments. By partnering with the private sector, Green Bank creates solutions that result in long-term, affordable financing to increase the number of clean energy projects statewide. Its mission is to confront climate change and provide all of society a healthier and more prosperous future by increasing and accelerating the flow of private capital into markets that energize the green economy.
